Grace and I would like to express our appreciation for everything that you
and Long and Foster have done to sell our house. As you know, we interviewed
a fair number of other agents and real estate firms. Right from the beginning your
professionalism, knowledge, attention to detail, experience, passion, belief and
commitment shined above all the others.
You invested the time up-front to complete the most detailed comparable market
analysis (CMA) of recent listings and sales. This enabled us to set a well-educated
and realistic selling price. Half the battle is in doing this correctly.
Your aggressiveness and creativity in marketing each of your listings through various
direct mailers, ad placements and open houses was another key factor in us selecting
you. Your initial presentation also demonstrated your in-depth understanding of the complex
real estate contract. We were impressed with your ability to translate in layman's term each
of the major sections of the legal documents.
Today's real estate market, like most markets, have gone on-line via the Internet. The time
that you took to take high quality pictures of our house and to post them prominently of the
Web, made a difference is getting prospective buyers quickly interested in our house. The
pictures were so well done that we have downloaded copies to keep for our memories.
The best sales people tend not only know alot about their products but also strongly believe
in them. This personal belief helps increase a customer's confidence that he/she is buying
the right product. Rather than taking the low offer you responded to the buyers with "I'm not
even going to present this to the sellers." This not only demonstrated your belief in the value
of out house but also your commitment to us. In fact, based on this, these initial buyers had
come back with close to asking price- that is sales skill.
Every step along the way, you presented the pros and cons and clearly expressed your views
based on your knowledge and experience for us to consider before making any decisions. From
this we always felt involved and comfortable with what was happening.
Your team, consisting of Laura and Sue, were also top notch to work with. Please extend our
appreciation to them.
We listed the house on July 11, received a sales agreement on August 3rd (3 weeks) and
closed August 31. This, along with your other recent sale, must be setting the time record
in selling million dollar homes.
Grace and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you and your team. We thank you for
making the sale go so well. It was very professionally done and, as you can see, we
only have good things to say about the results and the experience. You can bet we go
out of our way to let everyone know about the great job you did. THANK YOU
Terry McKinney
It was truly a pleasure working with you on the sale of my mother's home
in Derwood. It was apparent from the moment I met you that you were a
professional, however, it was the small things you did for my family that
impressed me the most. Your advice on what to do and what not to do in
preparing the home for sale was most beneficial. Very quickly I learned
that if I had a problem you had a way to resolve the problem.
The quick sale of her home is a tribute to your knowledge, integrity and
professionalism. You certainly live up to your mission statement. You
gave us the "best possible market exposure"; over 100 people went
through the house in three days.
Thank you again for your assistance during this difficult time. >

Tim and I want to thank you again for assisting us in the sale of our house
at 7525 Tarpley Drive in Derwood, Maryland.
After 21 years, I knew there were a lot of things we needed to fix in order
to sell the house. You were very candid about what we needed to do, as
well as about what we didn't need to do! All of the suggestions you made
about how to show the house in the best possible light were right on target.
I feel we got top-dollar for our house and definitely recouped more than we
spent on fresh paint, new carpet and so forth.
You also went the "extra mile" to do things that Tim and I could not do from
here in Indiana. You were our "eyes" to see that the improvements we contracted
for were made after we moved. You arranged for snow to be shovled, windows to
be washed, and the landscaping to be spruced up. You kept us informed about
what was happening at every stage along the way.
Again, we can't thank you enough for all your hard work!

I met Robert early in the Spring of 2004. My husband Walter and I
decided to retire and move permanently to our property on Lake Gaston, VA.
We had lived in our house on Bethayres Road in Derwood, MD for 33 years
and didn't know what steps to take first in regards to selling the Maryland house.
I contacted Robert and asked if he would please come to our house and discuss
getting the place ready for sale. When I met Robert, I was impressed with his
professionalism and demeanor. He is very honest, intelligent and responsive.
He inspected our house and grounds thoroughly and then sat down with us to tell us
what we should do to improve the house. Robert made a follow up call with us to go
over the details of how we should market the property. He recommended two expert
contractors (plumber and electrician) who did the needed repairs efficiently and at a
lower cost than anticipated by us. I also have to add that whatever we needed to talk
to him he always returned our calls in a timely manner.
We feel that you are very fortunate to have Robert Kerxton as an employee of Long
and Foster Realtors and we have told several of our neighbors in Derwood, MD the
excellent level of service he provided to us.
