HOME BUYER'S CHECKLIST
         Be an informed buyer. Gather as much information as you can.
The more information you have the more effective you become!
         Determine what you are looking for in a house.
That includes both your NEEDS and WANTS!!
       Talk with a LENDER to see how much you can afford.
Begin the process of getting pre-qualified or pre-approved!
This will help strengthen your offer once you have found your dream home
and your agent will need it!
       FIND an AGENT
Find one that you feel comfortable with and you can trust.
Find an agent before you go looking for a house or you may end up

       With your AGENT sit down and familiarize yourself with the various types of houses
that are on the market. Let me know what your needs and wants are, that way

       Ready to start HOUSE HUNTING?
Create a list of everything that you need in a house and everything that you want in a house
and check them off for each house that you visit. It is a great way to keep track of the houses
that you have visited and the ones that you like the most!!
       It is important for you to become familar with how to set VALUE to a home. This can save you

       Don't forget to ask your agent about Home Warranties and what they do and do not protect.
       Write an OFFER! You have found your "dream home"! I would be more than happy

       By this time, you should have already applied for a mortgage, if not apply for one NOW!!
       Now, it is time to schedule a Home Inspection. Protect yourself do not skip this inspection!
       You are going to need Homeowners Insurance. Now is the time to compare the different companies
and what they offer. Don't forget that this is a long term expense, so getting a good deal here will
bring savings down the road.
       Need to schedule a settlement attorney and time to "close" on your dream home.
       Make the moving plans! If you are using a moving company or getting a little help from your friends,
confirm/remind them of the date and time of the move!
       Get final LOAN APPROVAL from Lender! If you have given the lender all the information that
he/she has asked for this will be the easiest step of all! Also, ask the lender how much you are going to
need to bring to settlement.
       Do the final walk-thru on your "new" home!
       Final closing and settlement!!!
       CONGRATULATIONS!! You are now official home owners! Move in, unpack those boxes and ENJOY IT!
